Microneedling

Icon-Fleur

Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT, is a FDA approved, non-surgical treatment that transforms blemished and damaged tissue into smoother, clearer skin. It’s the perfect way to recover a vibrant, youthful glow without the use of harsh alternatives such as dermabrasion, chemical peeling and laser resurfacing.

This treatment helps lessen the appearance of fine lines, sagging, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, stretch marks and facial scars.

How Does Microneedling Work?

Microneedling works by engaging the natural restorative processes of the body and activating your skin’s repair mechanisms to stimulate collagen production.

After the procedure is complete, the skin’s natural repair process begins repairing the skin, resulting in a reduced appearance of fine lines, facial sagging, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, stretch marks and facial scars.

What Are The Benefits of Microneedling?

Not only can Microneedling reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation, and acne scars, it can also improve your natural glow and result in more youthful skin with fewer signs of aging.

Additionally, Microneedling also creates superficial micro-channels which can improve the effectiveness of topical gels, creams and serums to further enhance the appearance of the skin.

What to Expect

During this procedure, your doctor will create controlled micro-injuries to the skin using a special device called The InnoPen MicroPen™. The InnoPen MicroPen™ is the most advanced medical-grade microneedling device on the market and, through this process, can stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.

At the beginning of the procedure, Dr. Romero will apply a thin layer of topical gel to your skin and select the appropriate pen setting based on your unique needs.

Then, a sterile cartridge containing 12 points will be attached to the InnoPen MicroPen™. The pen is then gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding in one direction until the entire area has been treated.

What Does Microneedling Feel Like?

Many compare the sensation of The InnoPen MicroPen™ to that of light sandpaper being moved across the skin.

While some areas can be more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating tip and the use of hydrating gel help to reduce discomfort.

How Quickly Will I See Results?

Patients report an immediate glow to their skin directly after the procedure and visible improvements to the skin continue to develop during the days and weeks following the procedure.

In fact, results can continue to improve for up to 6 months after the treatment is complete as collagen production continues.

How Often Will I Need Treatments?

Some patients only require a single treatment once per year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 3-6 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart.

For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, or acne scars, it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6-week intervals.

Advanced Microneedling Therapies

Along with the standard Microneedling Therapy, Vitality Natural Health Care also offers other advanced Microneedling therapies with unique benefits including:

  • Microneedling with Advanced Peptide Growth Factor
  • Microneedling with PRP – The Vampire Facial

Microneedling with Advanced Peptide Growth Factor

Using Advanced Peptide Growth Factor, a combination of extracted and purified regenerative growth factor proteins and stem cells, this treatment offers the most exclusive and miraculously powerful revitalizing effects with stronger, longer lasting results.

Microneedling with PRP (the Vampire Facial)

Often referred to as a “Vampire Facial”, PRP, or Platelet Rich Plasma, treatments have received a tremendous amount of media attention in recent months.

These treatments completely rejuvenate the face and result in firmer, more youthful skin.

Additionally, Microneedling with PRP can also be highly effective in treating hair loss and scarring.

What to Expect

PRP is created from the patient’s own blood (thus the “vampire” facial reference).

About 2 teaspoons of blood are drawn from the patient’s arm and placed inside a centrifuge, which separates the serum, platelets and white blood cells from the red blood cells. From this, the white blood cells (or liquid plasma) and the platelets are then collected forming PRP.

How Does Microneedling with PRP Work?

PRP is concentrated blood plasma that is enriched with platelets; cell fragments that are found in the blood and contain 8 potent growth factors along with other cytokines that stimulate the healing of soft tissue. In the body, platelets are responsible for helping the blood to clot and rebuilding damaged tissue.

But recent studies have shown that platelets can also stimulate your stem cells resulting in the growth of new skin.

Additionally, in treatments for scarring, this procedure effectively breaks up the fibrous tissues of the scar while the PRP spurs the growth of new, healthy tissue.
