Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy, also known as a photofacial, is a way to improve the color and texture of your skin giving you immediate results. It will help improve some of the visible damage caused by sun exposure – called photoaging. IPL will also help improve red, brown, or splotchy skin.
Recommended Frequency: 3 treatments, 4 weeks apart.
What to Know: No sun exposure (even spray tan) 2-4 weeks before treatment and after treatment. Skin may feel red and warm after treatment. No numbing required.
ResurFX is a laser treatment that stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin in deeper layers of the skin. Stimulating new collagen production is the key to a more radiant, youthful appearance.
Recommended Frequency: 3 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart.
What to Know: No sun exposure (even spray tan) 2-4 weeks before and after treatment. Skin may feel red, tight, and warm after treatment. Minimal downtime. Topical numbing required.
This treatment combines two of our best laser therapies to accomplish total skin rejuvenation and achieve a more youthful and glowing look. IPL and ResurFX are both utilized back-to-back to stimulate collagen and elastin production. This treatment will help first remove pigment for a brighter appearance of the skin, followed by laser stimulation to produce new collagen and elastin in deeper layers of the skin.
Recommended Frequency: 3 treatments, 6 weeks apart.
What to Know: No sun exposure (even spray tan) 2 weeks before and after treatment. Skin may feel red and warm after treatment. Swelling of face for 2 days is expected. Numbing required.
What is a IPL Photofacial?
IPL Photofacials offer visible improvement of brown spots, age spots, rosacea, broken blood vessels, and the overall skin appearance. Common areas where the IPL laser is used include the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders, and just about anywhere there is skin! Your IPL treatment will last approximately 1 hour. Results may be visible after just one treatment. Sun protection must be used during and after your IPL treatments.
What can I expect after a IPL Photofacial treatment?
There is minimal downtime associated with the IPL treatment and patients are able to go about the rest of their daily activities. Makeup can be worn the following day. Although downtime is brief, it is important to stay out of the direct sun for at least a week and apply a daily sunscreen.
Are the treatments safe?
Yes, all of our lasers are 100% safe. We only choose technologies we know benefit the skin and are minimally invasive.
Does it hurt?
Some patients can experience some sensitivity during the treatment, this is why we invite our patients to arrive 30 minutes prior to the treatment to have topical numbing applied to make sure the patient is as comfortable as possible.
What is a Photofractional?
Photofractional rejuvenation treatment consists of combining our IPL Photofacial and ResurFX skin resurfacing treatments, to improve both skin tone and texture. These combined technologies allow for the removal of unwanted pigmentation and blood vessels, while also generating new collagen and elastin fibers to tighten pores, firm fine lines and wrinkles, and smooth scarring or texture. This treatment is customizable and can be adjusted based on the patient’s skin concerns.
What can I expect after a Photofractional treatment?
Following the Photofractional treatment, patients can experience some redness and swelling. This will subside within a few days. Most patients return to their normal daily activities within 48 hours following their treatment. It is important to avoid direct and excessive sun exposure after your treatment. It’s recommended to apply a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher following your treatment.
What is ResurFX?
ResurFX is the only truly non-ablative fractional laser treatment, and it is a safe and comfortable option for successfully treating skin concerns on both the face and body. ResurFX can be used to minimize acne scars, decrease pore size and soften fine lines to improve the overall appearance of the skin. As collagen grows, the skin looks tighter, more even, and more youthful.
ResurFX is also a fractional laser, meaning the laser light that is delivered to the skin is divided into tiny dots. Unlike other fractional devices, ResurFX requires only one pass over the skin to produce effective results, reducing treatment time. The device allows for highly customizable treatments, as we can adjust factors such as laser shape, size, density, and energy strength to fit each patient’s precise needs.
What can I expect after a ResurFX treatment?
After the ResurFX treatment patients can experience some redness and swelling and warmth for about 48 hours after treatment. You may also notice a “sandpaper” texture for a few days after treatment. This is a sign new collagen is being created in the treated tissue and your skin is regenerating. It is very important to avoid direct sun exposure and to apply sunscreen diligently throughout the treatment course. Most patients are able to resume their daily activities the same day.
